Like we have a option to put password for smc stop,Same Way is there any option on the sepm console where we can have password to stop Symantec Endpoint Protection Service.

Because in our environment if the user logging in domain with local admin rights then it is possible that the he may stop the Symantec endpoint protection services for any reason.
But if we have password then it would be a different case

Hii Prachand

Thanks  for the reply... but i think u did not get my question....i need to have a password to stop Symanted endpoint protection service not smc - stop this is just a client server communication services what i am looking for is  to stop the real time services i.e rtvscan.......even if the smc is stop the client will be  still running the real time services for real time scan.
I have searched for this option in the console but i didnot find it for rtvscan.
Hope you understand my concern.........

thanks..

Hi Hussain...

Sorry if i misunderstood you in the first instance..

In SEPM console there is no provisioin  to add password for rtvscan.exe

Adding this feature to SEPM would be be  a great idea

how to lock rtvscan from being stopped.

In the antivirus and antispyware policy there is a lock icon next to "Enable File System Autoprotect". If you lock this lock icon then the client will not be able to stop RTVScan.exe.
