RFC compliance in SEPM mail configuration
Created: 31 Jul 2009 | 3 comments
At several places in the configuration options for SEPM, the user is prompted to supply an e-mail address. When an address is submitted, SEPM parses it and rejects it if it does not meet SEPM's standards for what is a valid e-mail address. Unfortunately, SEPM's standards are incorrect and contrary to RFC 2822 ; addresses like <localpart @ domain>, <localpart> or <localpart+extension @ domain>, which are all syntatically valid and presumably deliverable, are rejected by SEPM. As parsing e-mail addresses is the Mail Transport Agent's job and not the job of SEPM, SEPM should not reject these valid addresses.

I agree
Admin@localhost is a perfectly valid email address, yet SEPM wont accept it...
I'll add my weight to this one.
I would have to agree prwade.

Yes it would be best to use the standards for this.
