SEP Management Pack for Microsoft SCOM (System Center Operations Manager)
The majority of our IT environment is managed using Microsoft products like System Center. SEP should provide a management pack to interface with SCOM 2007 - MOM 2005 so that relevant messages can be filtered down to SCOM at an enterprise systems management level. The enterprise systems management team would like to see all critical events in the IT enterprise sent to SCOM, and plan to link SCOM with help desk systems (MS Service Manager and HP Service Manager) so trouble tickets can be created automatically.
At least in our shop, the team that does the enterprise system management carries a lot of weight, and Symantec's effort to create a SCOM management pack for SEP would give SEP a better competitive advantage over Microsoft Forefront Client Security, which would be pre-equipped to intregrate with SCOM. SEP's lack of integration with SCOM could relegate SEP to a "second fiddle status" here at Johns Hopkins. Thank you.

SEP Management Pack for Microsoft SCOM
Completely agree with this one.
As a service provider this is a crucial component for us and something we are being asked for on a day to day basis. Either a management pack to cover this or a functional document to describe the best way to do it would be extremely advantageous.
I know a Quest Connector exists for Symantec Antivirus but this is the old version and does not apply to SEP 11.

Hi, Any news from Symantec on
Hi,
Any news from Symantec on this?
Disapointed.
I saw a whole bunch of posts with either Symantec employees saying build your own or no.
Just another example of why I will be evaulating forefront now that it is part of the SCCM 2012 agent anyway besides the fact that its lighter and cheaper.
As said before there does not even appear to be any consideration as to SEP Management server monitoring for any tool never mind Ops Manager.
I have no doubt MS will provide a MP for SCCM 2012 with Forefront 2012 integration.
Interresting to see what the future holds for previous AV giants.
From.
Just another dissapointment from Symantec.
