Hello,

I noticed that SEP client for Mac can not get its defnitions updates from SEPMs, and they have to either go to Symantec LiveUpdate server or an internal LiveUpdate server.  I don't know how difficult it is from the development point of view, or may be windows and mac liveupdate mechnisim are different.

It would be better if SEPM can provides definition updates to mac clients like it does for windows clients, keeping following advantages...
1. Large base of mac client do not have to hit Symantec servers
2. Less traffic across over our ISP line
3. Simplified Liveupdate policies, etc.

Please see if it can be a consideration?

Sincerely

This idea has been gathering support under a number of different threads.

Community members may wish to add their weight to this idea, created earlier: Allow Macintosh SEP Client to LiveUpdate via the SEPM (https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/idea/allow...)

Thanks and best regards,

Mick

With thanks and best regards,

Bump ...this change would be very welcome to many customers using MACs in the environment when the traffic outside the local network is a concern.
