SEPM should have built in sylink replacer utility to replace sylink file after doing 'Find unmanaged computers'
Created: 10 May 2010 | Updated: 10 May 2010 | 3 comments
The 'Find Unmanaged Computers' feature allows to push a client package. It would be better if this feature also allowed pushing the sylink file 'Silently'. The SylinkReplacer utility could be used for this. The only problem with this utility is that it brings up a command prompt for about 10 to 15 seconds due to which the users might call their help desk. Sometimes users also close the command prompt window.

Hey, VeeKee
Dont know if you could help on this Im having issue getting the Sylink to push out to all clients in the group, it does not push the Sylink to them I have been doing them manually any help would be great.
Thank you,
Hello,
This is exactly my concern and wondering if you found a solution. We are planning on installing SEP manager on a server and converting about 60 unmanaged users to managed.
How should I go about finding unmanaged users and pushing the sylink.xml to them all in one pop? Is this possible to do?
Thanks,
Ben
One way to do is, to find unmanaged computers and export a list of the computers. Then create a sylink file and run sylink replacer for the computers.
