Hi

Currently Symantec Cluster Server with GCO restrict that same version of Cluster software and steward.exe should be running on GCO as well as Steward node respectively. This is practically very difficult to maintain in a huge GCO implementation like our company has. There are about 6 different versions in our infrastructure and it is very expensive and not efficient to have separate steward servers (in a third location, which is different from data centres). In fact there steward servers are running 50MB software !!

My request to you to support any new released version of steward with all its versions of cluster software

Regards
Habeeb

Steward talks over TCP/IP

Steward talks over TCP/IP with GCOed cluster in case of wide-area split brain between 2 GCOed cluster - the steward is platform-dependent and also, version-dependent. You can use the same steward node for all 6 GCO versions that you have.

A best practice is to ensure that the steward binary's version is higher than the VCS version in the GCO clusters or same as the highest VCS version in the GCO clusters.
