Status: Implemented

If you use Administrator credentials with the LDAP synchronisation process, the password is transmitted across the network in clear text.  It would be great if the LDAP synchronisation process supported LDAPS.

Why would you use a domain administrator ID

for LDAP anything?  You only need an ID with read access.

Even so, secure LDAP should be offered as an option.  You may not want to expose even a r/o credential used.

Totally agree with you but it is the terminology used within the BMG.   the actual configuration item for this is called "Administrator Credentials".
