Unable to scan WinZip 12.x .Zipx files with current scan engine

Symantec has confirmed that the .Zipx file type is currently not supported and not able to be scanned by Symantec's AV products. Please add support for the .Zipx files to current scan engines.

You are still protected.

Even if we cannot scan inside of an archive (because of password protection, or type of archive) AutoProtect will still scan any files removed from the archive before  they can run and possibly harm the system.

That said, I fully agree that we should be able to scan inside of any archive type.

Hi, once extracted, AP will identify potential malware. There are multiple and different containers available, new one is always being added.

The Decomposer team is

The Decomposer team is constantly playing "Catch Up" with new file types and compression algorithms. Support for zipx files will most likely be included with a future release of the decomposer which would ship with updated builds of Symantec products.
