Most of the encountered issue in our company are corrupted SEP clients like SMC.exe cmc.exe rtvscan.exe etc I dont know why it became corrupted maybe there i some conflict between SEP and other application install in the workstation, I believe this is corrupted because it keeps on prompting on the screen, to resolve this we are about to visit the user just to uninstall then reinstall the SEP client to that machine everytime the problem recur, my idea is why dont you include the uninstall option from the SEPM server so that we can remotely uninstall then reinstall the SEP client it will lessen the admin intervention between client and it should be silently uninstall then reinstall. thanks

Addtional idea if they can include also the repair option it would be nice.
great idea!!! yeah why not include that in the future build of SEPM.
The Competetive Uninstall tool found on CD2 can be used to remotely uninstall clients.
CD2\Tools\CompetitiveUninstall\SEPUninstaller\
There is a readme.txt with full instructions there.
IF it is available why dont they integrate the uninstaller to the SEPM like migration and deployment wizard.
:-)
Hello everybody,
As you know, most Antiviruses have the Remote Installation Option & so, this is necessary for Symantec when you Compare them together.
I think that, Symantec's technical team, should think about this feature, because this is a missing option now. :-(
It is unbelievable that a tool of this size has no integrated options to remote remove and reinstall. Most corporate antivirus has this option integrated. The idea of corporate antivirus is to minimize the work of the administrator. And the lack of this feature will hand back to this idea. Symantec is taking a long time to integrate this feature in SEPM. This type of thing is important when choosing an Antivirus solution.
Please see my above post for instructions.
But it is not integrated into the Console. In other Antivirus solutions, with just one click you can perform the removal of the client through the management console. As simple as the installation of a client.
What prevents the implementation of this feature in the console?
But the tool is available while we wait for it to be integrated into the console.
Important to know that Symantec is aware of this inconvenience. More important is to act on the problem. The implementation of this feature is planned for the next SEP version?
Please don't forget to mark your thread solved with whatever answer helped you : ) Thanks & Regards Aravind
there should be a right click and un-install option from SEPM...or we should be able to push cleanwipe remotely from SEPM.
Agree, the inability to have your own software uninstalled is a travesty of programming. It ruins your reputation.
