The current ServiceDesk system and documents refer to Organization or Organizational Unit almost interchangeably. Organization implies the top level of a management structure when it is referring to a departmental level within SD. It is also confusing for users who are asked which Organization or OU they are in. They work in a department of a company. Why not use Department at the lower level and keep Organization for the top level.

It would also reduce the confusion when working with Active Directory with which many users are familiar.

Or, why not allow the ability to customize some of these fields. If you do not like the title Organization then you should be able to change this to Department.

We have raised this issue as well, although rather than specify a solution, perhaps the issue can be best summed up as there appears to be no consistant way of 'multi-tenanting' the application. Organizations does appear to be an attempt to address this, although we have noticed they are not truly hierachical and are hard to leveredge throught the application. Even your suggestion of Organizations at top layer and Departments at bottom layer really only accounts for a 2 tier structure, whereas many 'enterprise' sized businesses have hierachies that are 4, 5, even 6 levels deep.
