VAULT profiles disappear after upgrade

It has been noticed that, after we upgraded netbackup from 5.1 to 6.0 and 6.0 to 6.5 the VAULT profiles which we had before upgrading will disappear for ever. 

Then logged a case with symantec and as per their advice we did backed up the vault.xml file which contains all the VAULT related informations. 

We did backed up the vault.xml before we upgraded from 6.0 to 6.5 but landed in same problem that all our vault profiles disappeared for ever.

It would be great if we have a mechanism to save all our VAULT information (like the profiles and vault attributes etc) before upgrade and bring it back without corrupting the vault.xml file after upgrade.

This will really really help to save a lot of time spent recreating all the VAULT profiles from scratch.
