With the introduction of seperate tagging for parents and children in 7.1.2 it has oepened up a more customisable review process. However with implementing this feature clients are finding it frustrating having to apply tags twice once for parents once for attachments while reviewing in 'Review Mode'. It would be beneficial to have an "apply tag to children check box" when tagging a parent. I realise this feature is avaliable in snippet mode however Reviewers spend 99% of their time in Review mode and the process does not flow when reviewers spend months reviewing documents in this fashion.

Many Thanks,

Mark.

You can turn that feature off in the Case Settings if they want to tag parent/child the same.  We use it in the begining of a review so the client can use PC but then turn it off and give them new tags for a family tag.

Thank you for your reply. The trouble with this method is that it then restricts the ability to tag attachments seperatley. Ideally we would like the oppourtunity to do both dependant on the situation.

Sorry i just saw this

One way to address this is create two tag sets one with the ability to tag the attachements seperatly and maybe call it the TPC tag set

The other tag set with the same tags and sub tags just with the option to tag the attachements tick box unchecked.

This way you can apply either a tag for the whole document family or a Seperate Tagging of Attachements with the TPC tag set

Hi Mark,

In the next release we will be coming out with the ability to create type of tagset that has a bulk family propagation behavior.  What this means is if you tag with a tagset with this propagation behavior, you can easily tag all the items in the document family consistently.  If you tag an email with a tag from the propagating tagset, the email and all its attachments will be tagged.  If you tag an attachment with the propagating tag, the attachment and all the other attachments and the email will be tagged.

Meanwhile, you can create a tagset without the family propagating behavior to tag the item separately.
