I'd like to suggest that the ability to export across multiple PSTs be modified to allow for the export by either archived date or created/received date. This would prevent users from having many folders splashed across multiple PSTs in the event that someone needs to be exported who has a large to very large vault.

I am aware that EV9 allows for 20GB PSTs to be exported, however that isn't an option for some of my clients.

Mark, in part I agree, but, any kind of change in this area is going to involve upgrading to "Service Pack N".. and therefore wouldn't that be enough to go to 9.0.2?  What I mean is that if some clients have say EV 2007 SP 6, even if a feature as you described was added to Enterprise Vault, it wouldn't be available to them.

The only other way forward would be for a partner (perhaps) to do a seperate tool?

Hey Rob,

You're absolutely right. I'm not thinking so much of this current client, who we're decommissioning, so much as the greater EV community.

For this client, we're going to be using the PST Merge and Split tools from SysTools to clean up the exports.

How would exporting data by archived or created/recevied date prevent the same folder appearing in multiple PST file exports?

Also why is the use of large PST files not an option for some of your clients?
