We work in IT right?  Stands to reason once in a while we're going to have to migrate to a new workstation.  Sometimes, the newworkstation we're given, doesn't pan out and the best option is to get a new one.  So do you realize how many applications some of use that all have to be reinstalled and reconfigured?  Would be nice if we had a way to export our preferences such as the views on the Job Setup, Job Monitor and Media tabs as well as the custom filters.  This is the third workstation I've gone through this year and topped only by Exchange Server, Backup Exec is the most arduous application to have to reintall setup the way I want it.

I didn't see in your proposed document to save/import setup of Java management GUI.

Yes, too many times.  That is for migrating the Media server from one server to another.  I'm talking about my workstation and the BE remote Admin console settings - Custom filters, view preferences etc.

We had Java GUI for NBU 6.5 installed on Citrix. I have found out some registry branch and some files to be replicated over Citrix servers to keep my setup everywhere. But since NBU7.0 it didn't work.

NBU support answer was "Java GUI doesn't support environments like Citrix".

Therefore since NBU7.0 you cannot even export/import setup yourself.

Give me notice if I'm wrong. I would really to know what everything to copy to preserve my java GUI setup.
