It would be EXTREMELY helpful if there was alerting built into the application where administrators (who don't necessarily login and use the system everyday) where alerted when there was a problem.  For instance, my employee list was out of sync with AD for months, and I had no idea until a paralegal questioned why she couldn't see a newer employee in the list.  Another scenario is when backup jobs fail or collections don't complete.  It would be nice to receive an email alert when the system detected a new patch that needed applied. If would even be OK if there was a entry in the Windows Application log that SCOM could detect and email out.  I really need alerting in Clearwell so that I can intervene some of the issues and keep them from snowballing into bigger problems.

The alerting feature could also be administered through an interface in which the user could control the following

- How the alerts are sent
- When the alerts are sent
- To whom the alerts are sent
- For which issues the alerts are sent

As well as the idea to format an event that SCOM could detect.

Thank you for posting this idea, Lindsey :) It would be a very handy feature in Clearwell as I hear this from Clearwell Admins quite a lot.

I would like an alert feature whenever a new legal hold was created.

OK I reluctantly agree.  There may be some additional setup in order to get this working but if setup it would be helpful.
