Bandwidth Throttling in Apache (SEPM 12.1)
Created: 24 May 2012 | 5 comments
Previously we could throttle bandwidth through IIS. This feature is no longer available as the Apache version used does not support it.
We would like the option to throttle bandwidth (per connection) so clients cannot consume all available bandwidth at low bandwidth sites.

Agreed!
Are there any teams at Symantec currently working on a solution?
Yes, yes, yes. A thousand times, yes.
This is a very important capability for any organization managing endpoints over a slow WAN link. GUPs are nice, but this is still a very important backstop when things don't work quite a designed. SAV had the Throttle By Subnet capability, SEP 11 had throttling in IIS, and SEP 12.1 very much needs a supported solution to throttle bandwidth.
I regret that I have but one vote to give to this idea.

I´m using a local policy instead of a group policy. Works perfect!
Any changes for 12.1.2? I rather have something built into Symantec rather then setting up all these complex QoS settings for a large enterprise.
Thank you! Thank you!
Lifesaver!
