Once a policy is created you cannot manage it by bulletins.

  • When opening a policy on the general tab under "Software Bulletins", it shows only 3 bulletins ...  plus there is no link that list all the bulletins as in version 6.  (Yes you can go to the advanced tab but you have to go through each page to see what bullentins you have in the policy.
  • When opening the "software update", there is no way to expand the right pane so if the name is too long you will not be able to see it.  Thus if you wish to removed an update you do not have the necessary information displayed to do so.

Now that I'm starting to use the product this seems more important to resolve.  Having to re-stage all previous years’ updates and sort into manageable groups makes it impractical to stage each bulletin individually.  Not being able to manage tasks by bulletin, as could be done in 6, will be very frustrating.

I did create an incident with support and they also saw the issue and at this time there is no resolution.  They suggested creating a "idea" in the forums... blah!

The problem has been raised 20 June 2011, that is approx 7 months ago and there is 0 (zero) comments from Symantec support`? What's the point with this Community page then ?

This is not an issue regarding a font size or color theme, it is a VERY relevant question ?
There is no way of documenting what Bulletins has been choosen for a given Software Update Policy.

Get it addressed A.S.A.P, at least a work around !

We just upgraded to 7.5 from 6 and are experiencing the same frustration.  All around the product is working well for us but this seems like a strange oversight.  For us, just being able to see which bulletins were included in a policy is extremely useful.

We would love it if the ellipses in the software update policy under General | Software Bulletins was clickable to at the very least display the list of included bulletins.  It's annoying to see that 4 bulletins are included in the software update policy but only have three listed and no way to easily identify the fourth.

Thank you for the suggestion.  The enhancement request has been documented and will be considered for inclusion in future releases.
