Clearwell: Review Mode in the "Files" view

One of our reviewers raised an interesting enhancement idea. She was reviewing a large number of scanned PDFs (formerly hard copy). Because these files are scanned records, they are scant on metadata. Thus, most of the important information about each record is captured in the filename.

In order to sort on Filename (for loose files) in Clearwell, you need to use the "Files" view rather than Documents / Items. This will allow the user to sort on the record's filename. However, when viewing documents in this view, you are only able to launch the document in it's native format (download, essentially).

The user was hoping to be able to review these PDF records, sorted by file name, but using the Review Mode module. I think this would be a worthwhile enhancement.

I agree with the need but think the more intuitive solution is to add "filename" as a sortable column header in the existing list view.

yes, agreed!  Customisable views are on the roadmap.  This includes the ability to define which metadata fields are displayed in the columns.  So metadata would be brought in by LFI, then how this metadata is viewed defined in the workspace.
