Dear SEP Team,

The other day I was researching on a few security solutions found out the new breed of offerings dubbed as 'Cloud Antivirus'. I think currently Microsoft Windows InTune and Panda Cloud AV are forerunners in this perspective. Any roadmap with SEP/Norton to offer a similar solution?

In a way, SEP 11/12.x can already be considered a cloud antivirus. Because you can centrally run the SEPM servers in your datacenter while still managing AV clients from anywhere around the world.

I use Kaspersky and for those who cannot afford to purchase or do not want to purchase an antivirus and/or who don't want to have to do much configuration on an antivirus, I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials

I believe this is the solution you are looking from Symantec:

http://www.symantec.com/endpoint-protection-cloud

  • And here is how it works:
  •
  • Log on to web-based management console.
  • Deploy agent to individual endpoints or silently push the solution to the network.
  • Upon installation, the default policy is enabled for the agent to include Symantec’s standard antivirus, anti-spyware, firewall, and host intrusion prevention.
  • After the install, agent proactively refreshes the latest security definitions and updates.
  • Administrator can use management console to set custom policies and push to all endpoints in the network.
  • Administrator can use management console for ongoing maintenance including deploying new endpoints, viewing status, managing remote clients.

Regards,
