Dear Connect Team,

Isn't there a commenting option for blogs to seek further clarifications and/or highlight any shortcomings in the narration? I recently found a Security blog by @Mayur Kulkarni but unable to initiate discussion on a few points which is acting as a 'bone of contention' in the primary topic of interest.

Blog URL: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/news...

I have enclosed my browser snapshot of the blog. I don't see any option to initiate comment. Or am I missing something?

Blog authors have the option

Blog authors have the option of allowing or disallowing comments. The Security Response blog does not allow comments.

deepak,

This option is determined when the blog itself is set up. Or can be done on a one-off basis by administrators.

Dear Leslie, I am trying to

Dear Leslie,

I am trying to compose a blog as an offshoof of the topic mentioned in the initial thread (https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/news...). I was just wondering if I could post it in Connect section instead of Security because the former has provisions for comments right?

Can you guide me or enable commenting on my blog post? I sincerely feel that blogs should have comments enabled because that is what make it stand different from normal classic plain vanilla webpages in providing and featuring with a full duplex communication with the readers. I admit that there is a comment-spamming issue but we can make use of tools like Akismet which offer spam protection. If not Akismet the rudimentary CAPTCHA and/or moderation tools should help us instead of removing the feature altogether.

Deepak, The community blogs

Deepak,

The community blogs have comments enabled by default. I suggest if you have relevant information for a blog, post it in the Security Community Blog. https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/symantec-b...
