In EV 2007 when looking at archived calendar entries in Archive Explorer the date column showed the date the item was archived on.

In EV 8 (perhaps from sp1 onwards I'm not sure) the date column now displays the date the item was created on.

What I would like if the date column showed the date the calendar item started on instead of the date it was created.  Users browsing through AE-Calendars will be browsing looking for an event based on when they think it was and other events around the same time, not when they created it (IMHO).  I know users can search but the nice thing about AE over basic search is that users can browse instead.

Agreed,

One thing I do not agree on is your wishes for releases.  It is a lot of work for them to back port so I don't see the need for 2007, and in v8 I would suggest asking for a future service pack SP2 is due soon and is in codefreez so there is no way it will make it into that.  I guess your best bet is SP3 or SP4.

Just my two cents worth.....

I agree, I was just using the different versions to highlight what was currently the case.  I don't think this should be backported, but in a coming Service Pack would be good.

I like this idea a lot especially since EV80 now deletes old calendar items and users can't find them in AE when it uses the calendar item was created.  How many users will remember the date they created an appointment?

How about making the Archive Explorer view of Calendar folders look more like Outlook Calendar views while we're at it? Or is that another idea?

I agree that items should be listed by the Start date.  I also like the idea of making the Calendar folders look more like Outlook Calendar views.  That would make it much easier for the users, especially a user who is given access to someone else's archive.

This idea has been added to our internal system and is being actively investigated as part of a refresh of our online search UI. We are planning to allow a calendar view and a list view for events (or calendar items)
