As per Symantec technical rep- by default we cannot block keyboard and main disk(volume 0) using device control. My concern is mouse MUST be included in this list along with keyboard and main disk as we use mouse to configure SEPM all the time unless you want to type something.

In case by mistake if some user blocks mouse by adding USB under blocked devices (dont say to add exclusion for HID) then there is no way he can revert it back unless there is someother policy applied to some other group.

The issue I see with this is which USB mouse would you allow? Its not like hard disks where there is a disk required to boot the system which can be identified and automatically allowed.

Why not just not block mice in your Device Control policy?
