Client is not comfortable with only cold backup and require that DLP support Oracle hot backup.
There's a misconception out there that, as a customer, you're precluded from performing hot/warm backups of your Oracle database when running DLP. This is not true. From a Support perspective, Symantec Technical Support will only assist the customer in performing (or recovering a database from) a cold backup. This specifically limits their exposure with regards to becoming DBAs for each of their customers. But this does not prevent you from setting up other backups, nor does it invalidate support for the product. Symantec Technical Support simply won't assist you with those backups or recovery from them.
