BE 2012 won't allow linked duplication jobs to continue to run to an online disk storage destination if another duplication job is to disk storage that is offline.  For example, we are duplicating the nightly backups to an external hard disk that is stored onsite and to another external hard disk that is stored offsite each night.  The onsite storage is always online when the duplication runs at night but the offsite storage is offline because it is offsite at night. All duplication jobs pause, including to the online storage destination, when BE can't reach the offline storage destination.  The duplication jobs won't resume until the offline storage is reattached and comes online.

There should be a way to allow the duplication jobs to continue to progress to the online destination while only pausing the duplications to the offline destinations, then continue the duplication jobs to the offline storage when it is reattached the next morning.

You should put both disk storage in a device pool and then target your jobs to this pool.  This way, BE will use the first available device in the pool.

They both are in 2 different device pools.  I don't want BE to use the first available device, I want it to use both of them.  One pool is for onsite archiving and the other is for offsite archiving.
