Status: Alternative Solution

This is an enhancement request to FIX the Event ID:8 issue that affects all Windows 2003 Server clients as a matter of urgency!

Can you please give me more details about this?  If it is urgent I suggest you open a case with support.

I noticed that your case is still open.  Please use the case to continue to troubleshoot the issue.  However it looks like this is an issue with Microsoft's Crypt32.  This would require an update from Microsoft and cannot be fixed in SEP.

We have Tried both of your suggestions and we still have the issue with all of our 500+ Windows 2003 servers.

It is because the certificate registration process that has been used by Symantec in the SEP V11 product is designed for Clients which are at Windows Vista or Server 2008 or newer, Server 2003 cannot successfully use this process!

Have you tested with SEP 12.1?  Do you see the same log events with SEP 12.1?
