It's a big task,  but yes, in an enterprise world something like this is definitely needed.

Travis -- as Andy mentioned, what sort of things would you want to see in PowerShell? EVERYTHING.. is a bit of a tall ask :)

I may have jumped the gun on this one.. I'd like it for Endpoint Management. :\ I don't use EV..

However I don't think it's a bad idea for any product. General options I think would be a start. The ability to utilize the power of the scripting language to do redundant things you find you need to do with the program. That's how I use PowerShell now. It'd be nice to see more vendors get on board with the idea of doing more with less and saving time.

So what are the pain points with EV? What is a task that you could automate with a scripting language? Those should be relatively easy to answer for anyone that uses it.

For EndPoint Management I'd love to see functionality that maybe tied in with Live Update.. I'd love to see output at the command line with that. Maybe a function to get latest DATS from Symantec's FTP site or get-SEPVersion to grab the version of the client and the dats they are using.. Maybe get what GUP they are reporting to.. What Policys are being applied? Things like that. Things to make life easier..

I realize there are some ways to get some things currently, but it'd be nice if there was a way to nicely tie that in with PowerShell. And hopefully everyone has realized by now PowerShell isn't going away.

Yes I seems to agree with this idea as well.
