Give users the option to see policy settings
Currently the Enterprise Vault client has a an 'additional support information' button within the Outlook client which provides details of the users policy choices etc which are currently in the hidden message in the mailbox.
The issue with this is, it is not very easy to see which policy has actually been applied, since a GUID is used for the policy rather than the actual policy name. This means that the admin needs to know SQL in order to extract the information, and the end user has no idea what it means at all.
The enhancement I propose is that this synched information can be used to do a policy lookup which the client can then use to see basic archive policy information (as opposed to every single little setting from the hidden messages - which will remain available under a separate section or 'advanced' button) about their environment.

Jeff, what's wrong with the EV tab on each folder?
I mean.. I must be missing something from your uber-idea?
Many Thanks,

PS I hope that the post proves helpful.
Nothing wrong with it.
It just doesnt define the policy name....
And you are assuming the tab is available.
ok maybe the enhancement should merely be to define the archiving policy in use for the mailbox on the mailbox properties tab, and then use the policy option to show/hide it.
Or maybe the enhancement should crawl into a corner and try and hide ..... ;P
Thanks Jeff - I guess this is more of an Admin led requirement than for end-users? i.e. allow the Admin to see what policy had been applied to this user. Therefore could the Admin not use the policy to mailbox list available in the VAC to see which policy had been applied?
