Group Identifier change "group name" to number
Created: 14 Nov 2012 | Updated: 14 Nov 2012 | 2 comments
The SEP12.1 console lists client computers in group folders.
The group folders are used as the identifier for the group.
This is a problem if a group folder is renamed. New SEP installs that normally put the computer in the correct group now put them in the "Default Group" folder.
The identifier is found in the file sylink.xml as "group identifier".
The installation would work better if the "group identifier" were a "group ID number".

Good idea.
Please make this change. It improves the quality of the SEPM environment.
When a SEP client group is renamed, it's an obvious step that you need to recreate the 32-bit & 64-bit build files. The issue here is that you have no control of the other people who retrieve a SEP client build file and continue to use it even after you've told them to stop. This is the reality of working on the world "stage". Please design to improve the product's robustness thus compensating for this issue.
