Sym Team

i Loved the revamped partnernet portal.

Was expecting more updates in sts courses .

Many of courses do not fit under common screen resolution and it's annoying  while watching them have to scroll everytime.

Could you please look in to it to optimize it for better viewing and learning experience. Hope we would get same rich experience as new portal is

:-)

Capt'n -

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad (we at Symantec are glad) that you like what you see with the new PartnerNet.  It's really a foundation for future features we hope to implment in the upcoming year that make your use of the site more interactive and useful.

That being said, we want to address your concern with the UI; a couple of quick questions/requests for you so we can diaganose this a bit more:

1- What browser are you using; did you try different browswers?

2- Can you describe what updates were you looking for in STS, new courses?

3- Can you attach a screen cap of your UI experience you describe below?

4- What other enhancements would you like to see in training delivery on PartnerNet?

Hi kevin

thanks for listening to us

inline are comments

1- What browser are you using; did you try different browswers?

Tried Chrome 26, FF 20 and IE 9 and 10 with/without compatibility mode

2- Can you describe what updates were you looking for in STS, new courses?

Transcripts in xps or any other format.

3- Can you attach a screen cap of your UI experience you describe below?

ref attached snap

4- What other enhancements would you like to see in training delivery on PartnerNet?

optimized viewing experience for tabs and other devices with min 800*600 resolution. i tried following resoultion on my system (1024*768)

index sidebar should get hidden to left pane so main content gets more space to view

also unlike exchange 2013 had taken advantages to implement offline OWA access with cache enabled on newer browsers with learning we would expect to store content in cache for offline viewing till cache is cleared by anymeans (limited to per system)

most important thing, TRUE BROWSER support for partnernet . without IE we cannot register ourself to any new courses in either of channel (SSE/+,STS,ASC)

with non IE browsers we can only view existing registered courses. also would be great if course highlights can be integrated to new partnernet dashboard for quick viewing

 Cheers !!!

Capt'n,

Awesome - thanks for the time to provide the input, I really appreciate it.  I can't promise immediate action/resolution, but I can promise to forward to the PartnerNet and LMS design teams to take a look at and build into their tracking for enhancements/updates as they continute to refine the PartnerNet online experience.

As I hear more, I'll post updates.

While I have your attention, let me ask you a couple of other enablement related questions that you can help us understand partner needs:

Would you like to have a more mobile enablement experience for training/enablement assets so that you can access the material or take the training idependent of an online browser?  (Ie access to the training from a tablet/phone while traveling that has been downloaded to the mobile device) - this would be predicated that as a TSE you travel and need the material while on the road.

How easy is it for you to find Technical Sales Engineer -related materials for peparing for a sales call/demonstration/break-fix today on PartnerNet or any other resource Symantec provides to you?

partnernet content on tabs on the go. would be like dream came true... With fast moving pace times and heavy reliance on mobility devices it becomes easier to get content on the go... Also as i mentioned with new browsers being capable of aiding offline access with low bandwidth or no internet access in remote places too we can access them  (already cached first :-))

Connect looks beautiful in mobile view.. didn't got chance for partnernet.. Hope to see it getting optimized soon.

Sales and Technical Material are much more resourceful , Don't know how quick new updates are refreshed on course content (newer product releases)

 Cheers !!!
