Include support for Oracle on Storage Foundation - High Availability Environment with BE.

We support Oracle HA as RAC, MS-CLuster and failsafe.

It will be good if we include Oracle support in VCS Environment too with Backup Exec.

S

You need to be more specific about what exacly you feel is not supported.

You are using a number of different terms here - Oracle HA as RACOracle support in VCS Environment, etc...

Please be more specific about what it is that you need to be supported?

Are you having problems backing up Oracle on a VCS cluster?
Or is this SFRAC?
Or Oracle on CFS?

Which OS?

Backup of Oracle on a VCS cluster should be no different to Oracle on MS Cluster:
Install BE agent on all nodes, backup using the Virtual hostname.

I am not sure if you are getting it, let me clarify

I have Oracle 11g on SFW-HA environment.

OS : Windows2008 R2 64bit
Backup S/W : BackupExec 2012 SP2
Cluster S/W : Veritas Cluster 6.0
Oracle 11g

Now, if we look at BE 2012 SCL, we have do not support this environment, unless you have any thing to add.

...there is a lot that the BE SCLs don't support. If this is more of an enterprise solution, then NBU caters for this, not BE.

Thanks!

I see in the SCL that Oracle 11g is supported on Linux and Windows.

THe fact that it is clustered should not be a problem.

Simply install BE agent on both nodes and backup using the virtual hostname.

Are you having issues backing it up?
