manual archiving enhancement request

Customer of mine is using very often manual archiving, when he select multiple emails for archiving outlook is freezing for more than two minutes, a support case was opened for that and the conclusion is that this is a normal behavior. His enhancement request is now to have a progress bar to show the user that outlook is still working, in the same manner we have one when we retrieve an archived item.

Thanks for the suggestion. I understand the need for better end-user feedback during these operations. I'd like to understand why the customer is operating in this manner?
Have they considered the use of Virtual Vault instead?

Hey Alex, I could play devil's advocate and say 'why shouldnt the customer do this?'.. the product lets him.  If it is something that causes a product problems it should either be handled better, or disallowed?

 

It won't matter how many times you tell a user to use Virtual Vault, they'll always be 'some' that don't... or it might not be available (eg Citrix)

Hi Alex

I have tryed to switch him to VV, no chance, he wants to have an enhancmet for this "Bug"

This is important for the customer as he is heavily depending on the manual archiving due to a business decision to leave it with the user to decide on email archived or not.
