Netbackup Accelerator forces full backups after a change of the Storage server, Policy, Master-Server

After a change of the Storage-Server, Master-Server, Policy etc. Netbackup Accelerator creates a new folder for the track-logs and starts a complete full backup.

The log-location should not be fixed to any of these Properties. This should be changed, to make it more flexible/adaptable to large backup-environments.

best regards

So just so we're clear here...I've got about 2,255 clients on one of my Enterprise environments (physicals & VMs). One of my Media Servers is using accelerator on itself and has about 137 MB of data in /usr/openv/netbackup/track/ . So you're saying I should be prepared to make room for at least an additional ~308 GB of info on my Master just to consolidate all the accelerator data ? And that's a very low-end number since some of the clients are tracking millions of files all by themselves.

It's annoying when you get bitten, but I prefer the distributed method just for space considerations I think.

Hi John

I  don't have a space-problem.

What is disturbing: In case of a change f.e. of the storage-server :

C:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\track\\bkpfe10t03\\BE_WIN_ALLG_FS_synthetic

There ist written a new directory-structure for the track-logs and a new complete full-backup has to be done. There is a simular problem with synthetic-backups und the tir-log-file.

Here is a solution for the space problem:
