I am writing this because of something annoying I am experiencing.

I run McAfee on my servers and it creates temporary files that sometimes get deleted while backing up, causing several errors. I wish I could just exclude the files, but then I don't have SDR applied to those backups. So please allow SDR when excluding files and folders on drive C. Backup Exec administrators are professionals. We know what files are critical and what not.

In my case I have to constantly check the logs because I cannot see anymore, what errors aren't errors (like missing temp files), and what errors are critical.

Thank you

I like to bump this up.

I brought this up to the BackupExec engineers, in person, in June. I believe this is being worked on for the next version of BE, but not 2012.

One thing that I really want to exclude is the WSUS directory. That can be huge.

It has been almost 2 years but still the same in Backupexec 2014 SP1. When we exclude the WSUS folder we do not have SDR Data available.

Especially for the WSUS Folder or any other huge Data-Folder
