We would like to be able to manage the archiving policies per classes:

- To archive and use different retention periods, for instance, the calendar and system classes with a lower retention period.

As well as:

- To archive Contacts/Notes without change the original item.

Regards,
Emerson

If the need to do part of this is 'urgent', then you can accomplish the first part using custom filters. Don't think the second part is do-able using custom filters though.

The first part is possible to do using custom filters, but the second one not... Is not there a filter action to avoid the EV to change the contact per a shortcut?

Actually if I remember correctly Contacts and Notes won't get turned into a shortcut by default. Have you tried manually archiving a note, and seeing what happens to it?

While settings retention category per message is not possible it is possible to set this per folder. As calendar items generally exist only in the calendar folder you can use EVPM to assign a different retention category for this folder (and any other you wish).

More generally could you explain a little more about why you need to do this?
