Hi,

wouldn't it be great when there was a button in the Archive Explorer named like "recreate shortcut in oulook"? So when a shortcut were deleted but the mail still existed in vault, we could recreate this shortcut in Outlook and don't have to recover it from an Exchange backup. It would also be helpful if a migration of an archive went wrong...

Regards,
Viktor

We believe that with the new Virtual Vault feature scheduled for EV 8.0 SP3 will provide adequate functionality in this area and negate the need to have to recreate shortcuts because the UI will be rich enough for the user to go an find archived content even if the shortcut no longer exists

One thing this solution still does not address is the reclassifying of messages from one retention category to another by moving the shortcut from one Enterprise Vault folder to another. The suggestion is a great way to address this problem without having to restore the entire message and then reclassify it. Finding archived messages is not the problem since the search works well enough to find messages that have been vaulted. Also, if users want the message visible in Outlook, wouldn't it be better to just enable them to recreate the shortcut rather than restore the message?

Hi,

The EV PM team have revisited this idea and agree that Virtual Vault isn't the final answer for this suggestion. As such a new internal suggestion has been created (Reference: 298228) which will be prioritized along with many other Archive Explorer enhancement requests.

Any updates to this "internal suggestion"? Has it been implemented in any current versions of EV?
