When installing Backup Exec 2012 it adds the Media Server to my server list automatically and I cannot seem to delete it.  I have Backup Exec installed in a dedicated server that my other servers backup to.  I do not desire nor did I purchase a license to backup the media server.  I am constantly reminded on the Home and Backup/Restore tabs that I have one server that has bever backed up.  There must be a way to remove this server from the list or for Backup Exec to ignor it and stop telling me it has never been backed up.

When you purchase your core BE licence, it cames with a RAWS licence to backup your media server, so there is no additional licence required to backup your media server.

If you do not backup your media server, your recovery time for the media server will increase exponentially.  Have you thought about this?  If your entire data centre is destroyed and you have to restore everything at a DR site, you would have to reconstruct your media server from scratch without a proper backup.

Ja, I don't agree with this either. This is the way the product works, and I have yet to see anybody else complain about the media server being listed.

If you find this is a solution, please mark it as such.
