It will be great if there is a way where we can schedule the user archive backups....
"/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpbackup -i -p <policy name> -s <schedule>". Insert into your favorite task scheduler/cron and call it good.
That said, most of us are in the business of backing things up and restoring them later. End users are the ones who should be responsible for deleting files, not us. =)
- "Your backups are only as good as your restores."
But how can i specify the file/folder that has to be archived?
here i am trying to backup and delete logs generated by 3rd party applications on more than 100 servers.
This will need to be run on the client:
bparchive -p <policy name> -s <schedule name> -f <listfile / or filenames>
bparchive -p archive_polciy -s archive_schedule -f /var/tmp/filelist (in this example, the filelist file would contain the list of files/directories to be archived)
Place that command into your task scheduler/cron
