Its enough that the reports each refresh but having the entire page refresh every 6 minutes or so causes issues with our users who choose to use Safari or Firefox as the incident virtual windows will close when that page refreshes. We've tried changing the reporting intervals, moved SD.Feeder forms to their own app pools, etc. This isn't a performance issue but rather a simple refresh issue. There really isn't a need for it since each report refreshes on its own.

A workaround for this anoying

A workaround for this anoying issue is to edit the Adavanced Incident form in the Service Catalog, put a checkmark in "Open in New Window". Not only will it not close when the main page refreshes, but this allows you also to open multiple forms.

Problematic workaround

We tried that workaround but it introduced a fault in that intermittently pass-through authentication doesn't work if you tick the "open in new window" option.  So workers who click the "Submit Incident (Advanced)" link in the Service Catalog webpart are prompted for credetials.

Symantec have replicated this problem and are working on a fix in SP3 but for the time being we have had to stop using the webpart and completely change all our technician pages to use the ServiceCatalogFeatured webpart, which is garish and clumsy.

This needs to be fixed ASAP

This needs to be fixed ASAP as it just causes issues for all windows that appear in the JavaScript pop-up window. Even the send email times out during the refresh so basically you have 5 minutes to write an email. Either allow the windows to pop up in a new browser window or stop the refresh from happening but something needs to be done about this.

This is an ongoing issue that has not been fixed for years and it really needs to be remedied.
