Currently it's only possible to access SPSS (Symantec Protection for Sharepoint Services) GUI as administrative user who has access to the whole Sharepoint Central Admin site. It would be a good feature from security point of view to allow for a dedicated SPSS-only access, another example is that these days it's common practice to separate AV-admin role from Core,Exchange or Sharepoint admin jobs, so it's not a good practice to give AV admin access to the whole infrastructure.
