Dear,

It would be nice if there was an option to set a different policy for the offsite copy location. Actually what I woul like to achieve is x- months retention on the BU disk and only purge content from the offsite disc when it gets full. In this way the BU disk would provide recovery for x- months, the offsite copy would be long term recovery/archiving. The long term recovery/archive could then be located on a big NAS...

Hi,

This would be a wonderful feature to add.  Unlike Mike, we would use it to limit the number of Recovery Point sets stored off-site.  We backup several machines to a very large capacity NAS unit.  Unfortunately, our off-site NAS does not have the capacity of the on-site unit.  For example, we would like the flexibility of saving 6 Recovery Point sets to the on-site NAS but limit the off-site NAS to the most recent 2 Recovery Point sets.

I have seen this suggestion mentioned several times over the years in the forums but as of release 2013 R2 (11.1.2.54477) it has not been implemented.  Is there a technical limitation?

Thanks,

CQ
