After getting the communication working between the backup server and the Mac server we started having issues with backup speed. This is when you created a new call for us.

After testing the backup we found that the backup ran for around 20 minutes before failing with a communication error between the two servers.

I then spoke to Chetan about the backup speed and communication and he suggested installing 2012 on a different server to test. He said that this would fix the issues with the communication and speed, but unfortunately it hasn’t.

2012 is installed, and the 2012 mac agent is installed on the mac server. I have also established the trust relationship between the two servers.

When running a backup job it seems ok, but then after about 5GB backed up it fails and starts the verify before completing the failed job.

We have MAC OS 10.7.4 and I have now been told by Chetan that this is not supported.

Please could this be added as a request that it is supported?

Thanks

I've seen posts about Symantec being slow in keeping up with Mac OS versions for SEP as well. For the Backup Exec Agent to be so far behind the current version of Mac OS is unacceptable. Mac OS is now up to 10.8. This version has been in the beta testing arena for Mac OS developers since at least February. How can Symantec possibly justify being so far behind? It's time for Symantec to pick up their game with development cycles of their Mac software.

I agree,

I am running 10.8 on all our macbooks.  What is the time line for supporting 10.8?  Please reply to this forum.  Symantect should be on an early release agreement with Apple so that your company will be ready when they release new operating systems.
