Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Console Fails to Start when in Remote Session via Logmein
When I'm remotely connected to my PC (Windows XP SP3) via Logmein, the Symantec Endpoint Protection Mananger Console fails to start.
We have the latest 11.7.1 release of SEP installed, this is also a problem in older versions. I'm not sure that it ever worked correctly via logmein.
Java is version 6 update 31.
I've had your people look at this and they tell me to change settings on services that do not exist on this PC because it is not the SEPM server. Changing heap and cache settings in java (and in the cached files) make no difference to this behavior.
I've had the Logmein people look at my system because I assumed since the only time I have this issue is when connected through their interface that it was their problem. They cannot make it work either, and they say that you are not properly programming the console.
Your "installation" runs javaws.exe and loads items from the java cache folders to run. Consequently it triggers Java security features that block "unwanted content" from loading on the PC. Under normal operation, I can tell Java to not block things and it loads your console, however, when I'm connected via logmein I get the error message "Could not load java virtual machine" and then the Java program closes before giving me the option to block things.
Please learn how to program in Java, or stop using Java for the console. The blocking of unwanted features seems to be new since you stopped requiring version 5 or lower java installations.
