There should be a SQL query guide for Enterprise Vault
Created: 29 Aug 2012 | 5 comments
Enterprise Vault advance troubleshooting requires someone to run lots of SQL query for Directory database and Vault Store Database and other databases.
It would be nice to have a Guide / Document or differrent section in forum maybe containing all frequesntly used SQL queries that are really useful. From my personal experience we have to use various differrent SQL queries every now and then to get customised information our of EV database and perform DR, Move Vault store parition all these needs modifying SQL table.
A guide on SQL queries would be really useful.

There is .. but it's an internal document that a colleague wrote in the BackLine team. The difficulty with this sort of information 'going public' is that it exposes to some extent the inner workings of the product. Something that competitors would LOVE to have. It's a fine line to tread.
Many Thanks,

I'd like to understand what the most useful queries do, perhaps we could create PowerShell cmdlets to output the same data?
Yes please, that is why I always keen to know if EV now supports Powershell rather than executing the SQL query against the database.

Andy, I think you have the rub of it... the difficulty is that what is a useful query to one person, might not be for another. It's a tricky road to walk down.
