Lots of people in real world have to go thourgh manual steps of editing database tables, reg keys if they want to move SQL server to a new server or introduce SQL server mirroring at a later stage. It would have been lot easier if the initial EV setup was done using a SQL server alias. So that should be the recommended way of setting up EV server. So I recon in EV install and config guide this point should be added.
