Hi,

As you all know, from EV2007 onwards there is a feature called "Enable recovery of user deleted items" - with the number of days before the items are permanently deleted:

When users delete their emails from their archives the items are marked for deletions and the indexed items are deleted so that they are not available via Search or Archive Explorer. The deleted items will then be in a 'Dumpster' of the archive in the Deleted Items tab of the user's archive.

Issues or lack of abilities:

- There are no granular recovery of the deleted archived items.

- Only the EV administrator can perform the recovery of the deleted archived items to the user's archive.

In Outlook, when users hard delete their emails they are able to recover the deleted items themselves AND they can pick which item(s) to recover (with Exchange Dumpster enabled of course) via Recover Deleted Items.

Would be a good idea for the users to be able to do the same with their archives i.e. to have some sort of access the EV Dumpster and recover the deleted item(s) to their archives themselves.

Thanks.

Hi Andrew,

Yeah, very much so, would you be able to send me the details please?

It would be nice if it was something that Symantec would look into :-)

Thanks.

Thanks, agreed this would make a great end-user enhancement.

I've added a suggestion agaist EV's new search UI to expose this functionality.

The internal suggestion id is 900045.

Thanks,
