It would be useful to be able to specify an option to rollover vault store partition when current vault store partition reaches cetain size. For eaxmple you have 1 TB disk for vault store, but you would want to keep open partition size to maximum 100GB for ease of backup purpose, then it would be useful to be able to specify in rollover option that rollover current partition when  the partition size becomes 100GB.

Could have sworn I had seen this listed before, but I can not find it.

Thumbs Up.

We understand the use case, but based on performance concerns we've chosen not to include this option within the product by default.

It is possible to achive this by writing a script to check the volume then call the powershell cmd rollover command.  (Start-PartitionRollover -EVServerName <server> -VaultStore <vault_store>)

Hope this helps...

andy, i'm curious to know what performance concerns are you referring to? what i'm hearing is that because EV doesn't track the true size of the partition data on disk, it doesn't have anything to go off of internally.

therefor you would have to create a new process that ran periodically (WMI call or something) to trigger from.

I'm also curious as to what performance concerns there are (that aren't in the suggested powershell script)
