vxdisksetup needs documented option to clear FS info
For Oracle/Sun hardware, we are getting new servers with new disks that have a UFS file system already on them (something that is done during manuafacturing). As a result, under VxVM 5.1, we cannot initialize the disk via "/etc/vx/bin/vxdisksetup -i" until we manually clear the file system meta data from the begining of the disk. We did not see this on earlier versions of VxVM.
We would like to see a new option added to "vxdisksetup" that will allow the disk to be initialized even if the disk contains a file system.
There is a Tech Note that describes using the "-r" option in this scenario (# 156092). But that option is not fromally documented or described in the command man page or USAGE statement, therefore we are reluctant to include it in our standard procedures and tools for VxVM.
