I cannot believe there is no support for Windows Server 2012 in Backup Exec and NetBackup in mid June 2013! No Agent, no Media Server? C'mon!

And please bring back multi-server jobs.

HI Vladimir

Backup Exec is currently in beta with Service Packs for 2012 & 2010.  Both are primarily about platform support including Windows Server 2012.  We expect to see a full release in July.

For more information about the beta, I suggest you follow this blog for updates.

July when? Is it 2 weeks from now or 6? I've read that the current Beta and the official Service Packs release in July will only address the RAWS for Server 2012 problem. What about Media Server on Windows Server 2012 - any timeframe for that? And what about better UI functionality for BE 2012? Which features are planned to be introduced (or re-introduced) in BE 2012 R2 (or is it going to be BE 2013?)? What about full Exchange 2013 support with GRT (the one that actually works)? When that will become available?

I've spent a couple of days now trying to fish out  bits and bites of useful information from a flood of promises that things will get better later. I've read the blog suggested above and many other discussions on Symantec's and outside forums. If Symantec cannot deliver full support for all its products on a new (a year old) Windows Server 2012 platform it owes at least a courtesy to its partners to communicate more clearly the roadmap and its implementation schedule instead of brushing them off with promises of better future life.

And what about Symantec Protection Suite SBE? I understand that it supports now Windows 8 and Server 2012 as Clients but the Management Console cannot be installed yet on either. Mail Security supports now Exchange 2013 (that's a serius progress!) but not yet on Server 2012 platform (?). I would ask what's wrong with you people if many other software vendors would not suffer from the same shortcomings. The latter fact can be of a consolation for Symantec but not for thousands of its loyal customers and partners which are accustomed to view Symantec as an industry leader and for that reason have selected it as their vendor of choice.

Hi Vladimir

I wish I had more detailed information for you, but the release date is dependent on the progress of the beta.  That last update I received stated that all is on track for a July release.  There are factors that prevent the beta team from sharing more info than that.

As far as your other questions w/r/t BE, that release is still far enough in the future that we cannot legally discuss dates for it.
