It would be nice to have a list of known and confirmed bugs that Symantec support knows with a plan to fix it and maybe voting system (like in ideas) that we may vote what should be fixed first. With a bug there should be also ETA for a fix (in what release it will be fixed). Sometimes there is a known problem and even whitepapers available but only for internal use and it would be handy to be able to seek and reference something when calling support (obviously I'm not expecting that some ...

Earlier in STN we knew who all are online/Logged in right now.Even in Connect there should be option where we can see who all are logged in right now. People tend to wait for reply from someone whereas  the other person might have logged out due diffrent timezone (must have gone to sleep ).. If not a glowing bulb next to the name then atleast the way we used to have long back in STN in the Overview page.

I don't see any navigation buttons or similar ( for example : Pag 1 2 3 ... last ) to navigate through blogs, articles, ideas, etc. There is a filter in " My Workspace" that help to order the different posts but it's hard to go to other pages than the first.  You will see only the first Articles or Blog page.... Please add it so we will use better this section. Regards, Paolo

Here is a reward that Symantec could offer for basicly no cost, that I for one would really appreciate: Symantec licenses for my own computers at home. Everyone contributing to Symantec Connect is a professional supporting Symantec products.  Pretty safe bet we all have computers at home - probably most of us have multilple ones.  I bet I'm not the only one running VMWare, VirtualBox, or another virtualization tool to build out virtual machines for different uses.  Any time I ...

I would like to suggest the ability to recive email notification when a new post is made to forum topics, blogs and articles etc without having to post in those threads, blogs or articles.  I think this ability would be great because sometimes you want to be informed of new posts without having to contribute to the forum thread, blog or acticle or subscripting to multible rss feeds.

When using the SEARCH options from inside the forum  there should be a filter for Solved threads. As there are filters for  TYPE, PRODUCT, TOPIC, COMMUNITY AND AUTHOR. So there should also be a filter for Solved threads.

There are a lot of acronyms used in the forums.  These are probably familiar to the reader if they are using the features, but would be totally baffling to someone who is new or not familiar with the product/feature.  Perhaps someone should develop and maintain a glossary for easy reference.

We should be able to filter our own posts, and especially filter on "unanswered" ones with no solution. This way, people may be encouraged to mark more of their posts as answered...

I like the "ideas" section, however, it seem to not gain too much attention. You should maybe feature some random ideas on the right sidebar for the user to click on. (In context of the forum/product the user is in) Cheers Michel

I really appreciated the integration of the solved threads in the search results of our online knowledgebase [ http://www.symantec.com/business/support/overview.... ]. It would be perfect if we can integrate the Videos and Articles on forums with the knowledgebase. So if a user searches for a keyword, thats missing from the knowledgebase, we have other resources to look for. Cheers, Aniket

I would love to see an iPhone app for the connect web site.  It is hard to browse through Safari.

Use this new feature to suggest new ideas for Symantec products or services - or even suggest new ideas for this website.  Once your idea has been submitted, other community members can vote on it.  The top ideas move to the top where they are reviewed by Symantec product managers.  For a quick demo of how ideas work, watch this video:

Here are a few suggestions for the Symantec Licensing Portal The ability to add a Certificate number to pull in all the licenses on that Certificate instead of adding each Serial Number. When drilling down to the details of the license, you don’t know when it will expire. We have to go back to the original email or paper certificates to verify when we have to renew or rely on the Symantec Licensing Renewal emails. At the portal you could prompt the user that their licenses for XYZ ...

Recently, I logged a case using the Mysupport website.  It took 1 hr 40 mins before my support entitlement was verified and the case forwarded.  If the intention is to get people to log their cases using the Mysupport website, then this long lag between case creation and case approval should be drastically shortened or eliminated.  Otherwise, people will continue to call tech support as the approval process is negligible once you are connected to the person logging cases.

When I look up my cases on the Mysupport website, I noticed that the time is wrong.  Although the timings are listed as GMT, they are actually GMT-7.   This should be corrected.  Also, it would be good to have a facilty to define a timezone for each user and then translate the case timings to the user's local time.

I follow the Backup Exec forum.  Often, a user needs to post the job log to illustrate the problem.  The job log is long and posting it results in it being broken up.  This makes the job log extremely difficult to read.  It would be good to allow file attachment so that job logs, etc. can be attached to a thread.

Sometimes, it is desirable to send a reply to a particular post only to the user who make the post.  It will be good to have such a button next to each post.  Currently, you would have to click on his id and then send him a message.  This is rather cumbersome.
