I know I've been on about this for months, but apparently I need to ask again here so that it can get tracked.  And possibly ignored again.  We shall see. Please, please, PLEASE either give us a configurable option to change the display of dates on Connect, OR just go ahead and change the display of all dates displayed on Connect from the relative "6 weeks 7 hours ago" stuff someone must have been very proud of coding to the plain old "May 29, ...

Hi, It could be a good idea to be able to convert symantec points with symantec products. I know that I would love to convert my points for Norton Internet Security 2010 It could also save Symantec money because a license doesn't cost to Symantec like Amazon money costs ;) Naor Penso

Earlier in STN we knew who all are online/Logged in right now.Even in Connect there should be option where we can see who all are logged in right now. People tend to wait for reply from someone whereas  the other person might have logged out due diffrent timezone (must have gone to sleep ).. If not a glowing bulb next to the name then atleast the way we used to have long back in STN in the Overview page.

Here is a reward that Symantec could offer for basicly no cost, that I for one would really appreciate: Symantec licenses for my own computers at home. Everyone contributing to Symantec Connect is a professional supporting Symantec products.  Pretty safe bet we all have computers at home - probably most of us have multilple ones.  I bet I'm not the only one running VMWare, VirtualBox, or another virtualization tool to build out virtual machines for different uses.  Any time I ...

I really appreciated the integration of the solved threads in the search results of our online knowledgebase [ http://www.symantec.com/business/support/overview.... ]. It would be perfect if we can integrate the Videos and Articles on forums with the knowledgebase. So if a user searches for a keyword, thats missing from the knowledgebase, we have other resources to look for. Cheers, Aniket

Right now, on Connect, you can page through the pages, but you cannot skip or easily navigate to another page.  For example, you start with the posts 1 - 20 on the page and 21 - 40 on the next page and so on.  When you are on the page with posts 81 - 100, you cannot go to the page with posts 1 - 20 easily.    You got to page back page by page.  It would be good to list the pages at the bottom of the page so that the user can go easily to a particular page.  ...

Just a Thought it will be a lot easier if we have a bookmark option along with our Symantec Connect user account. We can bookmark Symantec Connect URLs and view the same by logging in to our account. I'm not sure whether we already have this option !!!

I would love to see an iPhone app for the connect web site.  It is hard to browse through Safari.

Hi, I think would be nice on Symantec Connect Forums and Ideas to have a chek just after writing the "Title" , if somebody else already wrote the same idea,  to avoid creation of duplicates. This is done in forums like "Stack-Overflow" (see: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/ask) See screenshot below:

I had an instance where I had posted an issue on the forum asking for guidance to an issue. After months of no response I was able to come up with a possible solution. Another user confirmed my theory and added a little more information. We were both correct however only one was allowed to redeem the "solution" points. I think that his might be true for others. It would be nice to allow both people to receive the points or even to split them in half. Thanks, Sheena K.

When using the SEARCH options from inside the forum  there should be a filter for Solved threads. As there are filters for  TYPE, PRODUCT, TOPIC, COMMUNITY AND AUTHOR. So there should also be a filter for Solved threads.

I follow the Backup Exec forum.  Often, a user needs to post the job log to illustrate the problem.  The job log is long and posting it results in it being broken up.  This makes the job log extremely difficult to read.  It would be good to allow file attachment so that job logs, etc. can be attached to a thread.

Sometimes, it is desirable to send a reply to a particular post only to the user who make the post.  It will be good to have such a button next to each post.  Currently, you would have to click on his id and then send him a message.  This is rather cumbersome.

There are a lot of acronyms used in the forums.  These are probably familiar to the reader if they are using the features, but would be totally baffling to someone who is new or not familiar with the product/feature.  Perhaps someone should develop and maintain a glossary for easy reference.

Hello to All Admins, I think that if Symantec Support Dept. provide a Section Called Symantec Online Support ( SOS ) & give Support with CHAT to Customers who have Problem, it Will be good Idea to Help Admins for Solving Their Problems & Also give a Real Feedback to the Symantec Support Team about Status of Symantec Products in Whole World. Right now, HP did same Support on their Support Section & they found lot's of missings & real Problems of HP Users, Also they will give ...

Recently in the Netbackup forum, someone had created a thread, and once everyone had given their ideas and tried to answer the question the creator posed, the creator went through and deleted all of their posts regarding his/her question.  Now the thread is completely useless, as no one can tell what the question was. I feel like the Netbackup forum is a great place to learn new information about Netbackup.  When someone goes back and ...

We should be able to filter our own posts, and especially filter on "unanswered" ones with no solution. This way, people may be encouraged to mark more of their posts as answered...
